The regulation EU87/2014 published by EU will go into effect on 25h August 2014. The regulation has further modification to EC396/2005 ( maximum residue limits in plant/animal original products and fodder ) It modifies four residues limits in Appendix II, and the residue limit is one time stricter for Organism amidine, isopropyl lung, organism oxygen bacterium ester and its mould aminein in tea. The limits to insect amidine is especially focused on from original 0.1 mg/kg to now 0.05 mg/kg.
According to information, the reasons that Chinese tea exported EU has been notified for 21 times until July are excessive pesticide residues,
471 items made from EU regulation is for tea residue until now.Except that the residue can not be excessive standard, extra testing beyond the regulation can be added at any time. And now EU adds the test to Tolfenpyrad, and there are no positive demands to its limit. But now this demands can not be “tested out”by EU.It folows that there exits known and unknown safety risks for exporting EU tea.
As far as we know, the export volume is 1.5tons in the first half of 2014, reaching 5883.1thousand dollar. It shrinks comparing to the same period in last year. The products exported to Africa, EU and Japan is mainly green tea. Notifications has been received by Ningbo from EU for excessive residue, The increasing requirements day-by day to exported Chinese tea will have serious influence to export EU trade.
